**To create a dataset extract:**

**Step 1**

In the WDTF Datasets module select the dataset from which you want to extract data

**Step 2**

Click **Generate Dataset Extract** and complete the following details:

| **Property** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| Start/End Date | Specify the start and end date of the period for which you want to extract data. |
| Include Transfer | Select this checkbox to transfer the extract to the BOM after extraction. |
| Force Metadata | Select this checkbox to include related metadata in the generated extract. |
| **Note**<br>By default, metadata is transferred for the first extract. After that, metadata is only transferred when the value of some attributes change.<br>If you have made changes to the data source (for example, by changing the object type), select this option to update the metadata in the transfer file. |
| Generate As | Specify the format in which to publish the status report. |
| Preview | Generate a data extract file on the local machine. The extracted file is stored in the /temp/rubicon/spool folder.<br>When an extract is scheduled, the process runs on the application server. |
| Publish Status | Optionally send or print a notification of the extract status. You can send a notification whatever the status, or only if there is an error. |
| Party and Email/Printer | If you are emailing or printing a status notification, specify the email recipient or the printer to use. |
