Access to just sites and site details (for example, to view sites on a map or site list in SiteConnect or NetworkConnect) is configured by giving VIEW OBJECT authority to those sites.

> ℹ️ You might give users access to view the sites in specific areas by giving VIEW OBJECT authority to those areas.

> ℹ️ Users with roles that already have site access (such as customers who have OWNER or SP OPERATOR roles) do not need additional VIEW OBJECT access to see those sites.

1. Click **Parties** to open the Parties module.
2. Select the party (or group) to whom you want to give the authority.
3. On the **Authority** tab click the **Insert** button to add a new authority. (The Party field will show the selected user by default).
4. In the **Role** field select the VIEW OBJECT role
5. In the **Access** field select the object (for example a SCADA group or a site) to which the user should have access.
6. Click **Save** to save your changes.
