Report tables are used to display output in some report paragraphs in editable reports. To use a report table you must first extract the data for the table, then bind the data to the columns of the report table.

See [https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RptNC/pages/1979548825](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RptNC/pages/1979548825) for an explanation of how data-driven report components work.

You can now:

- [Format table and column headings ](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RptNC/pages/1978796270/Formatting+the+Report+Table#Formatting-Table-and-Column-Headings)
- [Sort and order the columns](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RptNC/pages/1979679657)
- [Remove or hide columns](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RptNC/pages/1978796270/Formatting+the+Report+Table#Removing-and-Hiding-Columns)
- [Add a calculated column](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RptNC/pages/1979679650)

# Report Table Column Types

The column number field on the **Table > Columns** tab also indicates the column type:

| **Column marker (example)** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| 2 | Data column |
| 2^ | Sorted column |
| [2] | Hidden column |
| {2} | Calculated column |

# Report Table Column Properties

Select a column and click **Modify** to view the column properties. The properties available are:

| **Property** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| Header | Column header text. You can edit this to improve on the default value. |
| Width | Column width in pixels. By default, the columns are of equal width and take up the width of the output page. |
| Background | Background colour of the column |
| Text | Font properties and alignment |
| Type | Data type for the column. The default value is String, except for Network Subtable columns which have type Table. See <u>[Adding a Sub-Table to a Network Table ](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RptNC/pages/1979744586/Creating+a+Network+Table+Paragraph#Adding-a-Sub-Table-to-a-Network-Table)</u>for details.<br>You may need to change the data type from String to a number or date format if you want to sort the column. See <u>[Sorting and Ordering Table Columns](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RptNC/pages/1979679657)</u> for details. |
| Format | Specify the number format for numerical data.<br>Enter the format in the form 00.## to indicate the number of figures to show before and after the decimal place.<br>- 0 adds leading or trailing zeros
- # omits leading or trailing zeros<br>For example, if the original value is 23.4, the output will be as follows:<br>- Format string: 000.## Result: 023.4
- Format string: ###.00 Result: 23.40
- Format string: ### Result: 23 |
| Statistics | Specify what type of [summary data](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RptNC/pages/1979810057) to display for this column |
| Show summary label | If you are displaying summary data, select this to display a summary data label |
| Data Binding | Source of the data for this column. For a bound column, this will be the column number of the data table, for a calculated column it will be the calculation used to generate the column value. |
| Hidden Column | Select this checkbox to hide the column. You might do this, for example, if you want to use the column in a calculation but not display the original value. |
