Set basic report properties and report layout.

**Step 1**

Click **Report Editor** to open the Report Editor module.

**Step 2**  
[Create a new report, or open an existing report](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RptNC/pages/1979614257/Creating+Editing+and+Saving+a+Report#Create-or-modify-a-report). The **Report Properties** screen opens immediately when you create a new report, or you can open it at any time by clicking  Report Properties.  
**Step 3**

Set the following properties:

| **Property** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| Name | Unique Report name. |
| Description | Description of the report that will be used as a label within the application. Enter a unique description that will make the purpose of the report clear. If you don't enter a description, the report name is used as a label. |
| Orientation | Specify whether the report content should be printed in Landscape or Portrait orientation for output in PDF format. |
| Compact Mode | Choose this mode to reduce the line height and the table row padding in the report. The report will take up less space but text may be harder to read. |
| Show Input Parameters | Select this to print the name and value of input parameters at the top of the report.  
**Note: **A more flexible way to print the input parameters is to use a Parameter Paragraph. |

**Step 4**

Click **Save** to save your changes.
