You may have a large number of orders to plan. These are some strategies that help to divide the task into manageable parts:

- Start by assessing the overall demand for the different sections of your network. You can do this by viewing the flow histograms through critical supply regulators. This will tell you how much water you need to move from the source, and whether you will need to call on additional water supplies to satisfy demand.
- Then plan each pool, starting with the spur channels that are furthest from the source. Use the **Events > View Events by Regulator** tool to filter events by a supply regulator. Keep the Flow Histogram open while you plan to see changes through the main system regulators. (create a trend group of these regulators that you can save and re-open).
- Once all spurs are planned, link the remaining finish events from the bottom to the top of the main channel.
- Check the plan by searching for over-capacity regulators and late orders. Make any changes that are necessary to resolve these issues.
- Link any remaining unlinked start events to the top regulator. Use the **Events > View Events by Plan** to find unlinked events.
