# Stopping an Order in an Emergency

You can immediately stop an order by using the **Emergency Stop** button on the Order Details screen. By default, this will immediately stop the current order, but will not affect future orders. The customer will only be charged for the water that is delivered.

- You can make the **Emergency Stop** function available in the Irrigator Portal by setting the **Customer Emergency Stop** parameter to YES (available) or NO (not available). This can be set at the System, Group, Area, and Outlet levels. The setting on the most specific level applies - for example, the setting on the Outlet overrides the setting on the Area.
- You can configure this behaviour so that any existing presets for the gate are also disabled. See [Configuring Emergency Stop and Presets](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PNC/pages/2051866852) for details.
- You can set the outlet as stopped to prevent any other orders from being placed at the outlet. See [Disabling Ordering](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PNC/pages/2051899574) for details.

# Cancelling an Order

Cancel an order from the Orders module or from the Order Details form in the Planning Schematic. You cannot cancel an order that has already run or is in progress (use the **Emergency Stop** button if the order must be stopped immediately). If the order has not yet finished, you can change the finish time.

To cancel an order, select the order and click **Cancel the current order** on the order toolbar.

# Changing an Order

A customer may want to make changes to an order before it starts, or to change the finish time of an order that has already started.

You can change orders in the Orders module, or in the Planning Schematic. The type of change you should make depends on the order status:

| **Order Status** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| Requested | Make the changes in the Orders module to the *Requested* order items. |
| Scheduled | Make the changes to the scheduled item in the Planning Schematic. A scheduled order has already been included in a plan, so any changes to the order should be made by the planner so they can assess the impact of the changes on the rest of the plan. |
| Estimated | Ideally the changes should be made by the Planner in the Planning Schematic so that the impact on other orders can be managed.
In this case, update the estimated order items. The scheduled items cannot be updated. |

## Change an Order

**Step 1**

Open the order details in either the Orders module or in the Planning Schematic. The order items are listed in the Order Items panel at the bottom of the screen.

**Step 2**

Use the order status tabs to the left of the Order Items list to choose the order items to change. For example, choose the **Estimated** tab to change any *Estimated* order items.

**Step 3**

Choose the type of change you want to make by clicking the buttons to the right of the list. The buttons are enabled if a change is possible:

| **Option** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| Modify Products | Choose this button to change the crop types for the order. |
| Modify | Choose this button to change start and end times and flow rate. |
| Advanced | Choose this button if you want to change or add flow items to the order. |

**Step 4**

Make your changes and click **Save**.

## Change Crop Types

1. Click the **Modify Products** button.
2. In the **Change Crops** window, make changes to the **Flow Rate by Crop Type**. The sum of the flow rates for the crop types must be the same as the **Item Flow Rate**. Only crop types that were valid when the order was placed will be displayed in the list.
3. Click **Submit** to save your changes.

## Change the Start or End time, or the Flow Details for an Order

**Step 1**

Click the relevant **Modify** button or use the **Advanced Modify** button for multi-flow orders.

**Step 2**

Enter the following details as necessary:

| **Property** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| Start Time | Change the order start time. This changes the finish time but not the duration.
If you are changing the start time, you can select the **Requested by Customer** checkbox to record that the change was requested by the customer. |
| **Note**
Changes to order start times that the customer has agreed to or has requested are recorded as the *Requested* start time so that delivery performance can be calculated correctly.
If the change was not requested by the customer, the original *Requested* start time is not changed.
This information is used by the [Irrigation and Scheduling Performance Report](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RptNC/pages/1987444770) to calculate order delivery performance statistics. |
| Finish Time | Change the order finish time.
This changes the duration, but not the start time. |
| Flow Rate | Change the flow rate. For an order with multiple flows, choose the **Advanced** option instead of the **Modify** option.
For changes to flow rates, you can use the **Flow Change** field to indicate whether the notice given by the customer was considered *Acceptable* or *Unacceptable*, or whether no notice was given by the customer although the change was *Detected* by a field officer. This field will be enabled when you make a change to the flow rate field. |
| Duration | Change the duration of the flow.
This changes the finish time, but not the start time. |

**Step 3**

Click **Submit** to save your changes.

## Change or Add Flow Items Within the Order
