You can attach messages to an outlet in the Outlets module, in the Planning Schematic, or by using the [Mobile Meter Reading](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RKB/pages/3031349) apps. These are typically used to alert planners or field operators to conditions at the outlet.

Messages can be displayed on the [Running Sheet report](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RptNC/pages/1986888436) or in the Mobile Meter Reading app.

# Attach a message to an outlet

1. Select the outlet in the Outlets module or select the outlet in the Planning Schematic then right-click and choose **Details** to display the outlet details.
2. Click **Send Message** to create a new message.
3. Type in your message text and click **Send** to save the message.

# Read a Message

You can also read messages that other staff have attached.

1. Select the outlet in the Outlets module, or in the Planning Schematic, right-click on the object or order and choose **Details**. If a message is attached to the selected object or order, the **View Message** icon is available on the toolbar
2. Click **View Message** to view messages attached to the object or order.
