Restrict ordering for an outlet indefinitely by setting the **Stopped** attribute. Typically an outlet is stopped if there is a physical problem such as a faulty gate motor, while a property is stopped if the owner's payments are in arrears.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ To temporarily restrict ordering for a whole area so you can carry out maintenance, create a maintenance schedule. See <u>[Creating a Maintenance Schedule](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/NWNC/pages/2000978917)</u> for details.

1. Select the outlet that you want to stop. For example, use the Outlets module, or locate the outlet on the Network Schematic.
2. In the object details screen, open the **Attributes** tab.
3. Double-click on the **Stopped** attribute and change the value to *Yes*.
4. Click **Save** to save your changes.

If a customer or user attempts to place an order for the outlet, the system will reject the order and display an explanation for the failure. To re-enable ordering, set the **Stopped Indicator** attribute to *No*.
