You can preview meter readings and import metadata from a meter reading file.

> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ The Preview tool reads all the data in the meter reading file. You cannot filter by reading date or by excluding existing readings. Anything you enter in the **Default Time/Date** and the **Exclude Existing Readings** files will be ignored.

1. In the Meter Reading Entry module click **Import Meter Reading from File **to open the Import Meter Readings screen.
2. Select *Mobile app file*
3. Select the **File** to preview.
4. Click **Preview** to import readings. The readings are loaded and then displayed in a preview screen.

Readings on the preview screen are colour coded as follows:

- <span style="color: #ff5630">**Red**</span> - invalid data
- <span style="color: #ff991f">**Orange**</span> - shared, planned outlets and estimated data
- <span style="color: #36b37e">**Green**</span> - shared, unplanned outlets

You can access the following tools on the Preview screen toolbar:

| --- | --- |
| Import Meter Readings | Start another import or preview. |
| View Resource | View and import any new metadata and resources in the meter reading file.<br>See <u>[Importing Metadata and Resources](https://support.rubiconwater.com/help/dms/content/topics/modules/meterreadingentry/pcd_import_resources.htm)</u> for more details. |
| View Party Details | Select a row to view the details of the operators for the selected outlet. |
