There are a number of approaches available for commissioning the site charging settings to match the LiFePO4 battery.

The approaches are presented below in order of preference.

These approaches can be used when commissioning a new site or replacing a battery in a site.

> ℹ️ If you are replacing a battery in a site where a different battery type has previously been in use, you must reconfigure the charger using the approaches below to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

# Commissioning a Pedestal Site

This table shows the three configuration options for a Pedestal in order of preference.

> ℹ️ It is recommended to update firmware to current production firmware if LiFePO4 keypad commissioning is not available

| **Preference** | **Method** | **Description** | **Required SolarDrive firmware version** |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1 | [Local configuration using the pedestal keypad](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/LB/pages/2556723201) | Pedestal screens allow for configuration of charger to recommended settings for each battery type. Whilst default settings are recommended, adjustments of all settings can occur through additional screens. | v7.0.0 and newer |
| 2 | [Local configuration using a Rubicon PDT](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/LB/pages/2438922266) | A Rubicon programming and diagnostics tool (PDT) can be used with supporting PC software to configure the charging parameters. | v6.1.5 and newer |
| 3 | [Remote configuration](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/LB/pages/2438627382) | Charging parameters can be updated utilising a remote connection.<br>This is a manual and more complicated method. | v6.1.5 and newer |

# Commissioning a Monitoring Pedestal

This table shows the two configuration options for a Monitoring Pedestal in order of preference:

| **Preference** | **Method** | **Description** | **Required SolarDrive firmware version** |

# Commissioning a FerIT Site

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ The FerIT Node Must be programmed with firmware version 1.15.1

This table shows the configuration option for a FerIT:

| **Method** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| [Bluetooth configuration via DeviceConnect](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/LB/pages/2435350559) | Adjusts Solar Jeita profiles to ensure optimal charging voltages |
