The Demand Prediction module calculates the predicted water demand for an area and a time period. It is used to determine how much water the network should supply to the area.

> ℹ️ You might run a demand prediction before creating a Rotation for an area. This will allow you to calculate the flow you need to provide at the boundary regulator for the rotation area.

The prediction is based on the following configured data:

# Configured in DMS

Expected evaporation rates stored in the Targets module

# Configured in NetworkConnect

- Crop types and their crop factors
- Irrigation units which define the areas to be irrigated
- Plantings which associate a crop type with an irrigation unit and a planting period
