Condition statements are used to determine what value to return based on the result of a test. The values tested must be numerical.

A condition statement contains:

- A condition that returns a value of true or false.
- The value to return in either case. The return value must be calculated by evaluating another statement. (In future versions, it will be possible to supply a return value directly as a constant)

**To create a condition statement:**

1. Select the *Condition* option at the top of the Editor
2. Specify the value to test. This can be a constant, or a value returned from another statement.
3. Specify the conditional operator.
4. Specify the value to test against. This can be a constant, or a value returned from another statement.
5. Specify what value to return if the test result is *true*. This must be a value returned from another statement (in the future, you will be able to specify a constant value to return.)
6. Specify what value to return if the test result is *false*. This must be a value returned from another statement.

See the [Tag Expression Example](https://rubiconwater.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/DCNC/pages/2048721148) for some examples of conditional statements.
