Correct a rating table when you want to make changes to the equation or data points that can be applied retrospectively. Correcting a rating table automatically retires the original rating table and replaces it with a corrected copy with the same start and end dates.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ If the historical data is correct and does not need to be recalculated, but you want to start using a new rating table, you should [replace](https://support.rubiconwater.com/help/scforms/content/topics/modules/ratingtables/pcd_update_rating_table.htm) the old rating table rather than retiring it.

# Correct and Retire a Rating Table:

1. In the Rating Tables module, select the rating table that you want to change.
2. Make whatever corrections necessary to the rating table. For example:
  - On the Details tab, click **Edit** to change the rating equation, rating points, or interpolation method.
  - On the Points tab, **Insert**, **Modify**, or **Delete** data points, or **Import** new points from a spreadsheet.
3. Click **Recalculate Tag Events** to apply the changes to your historical data.
  - Specify the date range for the recalculation and click **Find**.
  - Check the recalculated data.
4. If you are happy with the recalculation, click **Save** to save your changes and update the data.

## Viewing the Retired Rating Table

The retired rating table is displayed in the Rating Tables module with an asterisk(*) beside the date range and is listed on the Revisions tab of the rating table that followed it.
