For some attribute types, the available values are chosen from a list. These attributes are said to have *Enumerated* data. You can add or modify list values, and provide a descriptive name for numeric values to make them more meaningful.

To add items to a list of values:

1. In the Attribute Types module select the attribute type for which you want to add values.
2. On the Values tab, click **Insert** to open the Inserting Values popup.
3. Insert a **Description** and a **Value**. You must enter both, but they can be the same.
4. Click **Save** to save your changes.

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ The value is what is stored as the attribute value, and the description is what is displayed in a value picker.

> ℹ️ **Example**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ In the Colours attribute, the colour RED is stored as a number, but the choice displayed to the user is "RED"
