The Application Runtimes module is where you can view the application runtime parameters, particularly SCADA Runtime parameters. These are usually set up once and not changed.

Use the Application Runtimes module, rather than the Parameter Editor, to work with runtime parameters. The Application Runtimes module presents the Application runtime parameters in a more user-friendly way by itemising the command line parameters included in each of the runtime parameters.

# What are Application Runtime Parameters?

Application runtime parameters are command line parameters used for launching applications such as SCADA Connect Forms or SPM Web.

For example, when you launch SCADA Connect from the Planning Schematic in DMS, a runtime parameter controls what data is loaded and what features are available in SCADA Connect. Application runtime parameters are also used to configure menu items in the web-based Launch menu.

# Configuring SCADA Runtime Parameters

SCADA Runtime parameters control what SCADA screens are available when you launch SCADA Connect.
If you are launching SCADA Connect from the Planning Schematic, you must create a relationship between the appropriate SCADA runtime parameter and the Planning Area or Planning Group that you work with in the Planning Schematic. You can do this in either the Application Parameters Module or in the Areas or Groups module.

## Other Parameter Properties

> ℹ️ **Note**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ Not all properties require a value. For those properties, the default value is used if the property has been configured. To disable the property, remove it from the parameter.

The following table lists some of the more important properties that you can set for SCADA Runtime parameters.

| **Property** | **Description** | **Value Required** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Alarm Flash | If the value is set to *Yes*, unacknowledged alarms will flash when viewed on the application Alarms list. | No |
| Extend Object Name | If the property exists, SCADA Connect will use regulator names rather than its object number. | No |
| Menu Object No | Object ID of a SCADA Group object. The members of this group will be listed in the SCADA Connect site selection menu. | Yes |
| Overview Screen | Allows you to specify an overview screen. | Yes |
| Schematic | Object number of a group or area to load in the network | Yes |
| Tag Object Nos | Space separated list of objects, groups or tags to load. | Yes |
| Toolbar Actions | | |
| Web Server | URL of SCADAConnect Web | |
