The System Plan Interchanges module is where you can set the default (system-wide) colour scheme for time periods associated with a plan.

A colour scheme consists of a set of time periods, defined using offsets from the start of the plan day, and a colour assigned to each period. The colour scheme is used to display flow times in the Network Planner.

# Creating a Colour Scheme for Plan Interchanges

You can create either a default scheme for all plans, or a custom scheme for a specific plan. The process is similar in each case.

1. To create a default colour scheme, use the System Plan Interchanges module. To create a custom colour scheme, use the Plan History module.
2. Select the scheme to customise and open the Interchanges tab.
3. Click **Insert** to create a new plan period.
4. Enter the Plan Offset. This is the start time of the new plan period measured in hours from the start of the plan day.
  **Example**
  - The offset for the plan day is 0
  - The offset for the day *after* the plan day is 24
  - The offset for the day *before* the plan day is -24
5. Choose a **Colour** for the period.
6. Click **Save** to save your changes.

Create more plan periods as required. The beginning of each plan period is used to define the end of the previous plan period.
